Teenage rape cases among December statistics TALEBULA KATE THE alleged rape of a 15-year-old student by another student last month is among sexual offences statistics released by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions today. This was revealed by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) in an authorised statement on sexual offences for the month of December last year. The statement also revealed incidents where a 37-year-old uncle and a 48-year-old  grandfather were charged with two counts each of rape and indecent assault of their 16-year-old niece and granddaughter. There was another incident where a 35-year-old brother-in-law was charged with rape and indecent assault of his 16-year-old sister-in-law. The statistics noted that six people were charged with a total of 11 separate incidents last month alone.

Kernersville man charged with statutory rape of 14-year-old Justin Ross Murphy, 24. LEXINGTON, N.C. — A Kernersville man is accused of raping a 14-year-old, according to a press release. On May 26, 2017, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a teenager. Following a forensic interview at the Dragonfly House Children’s Advocacy Center in Mocksville, investigators found evidence that Justin Ross Murphy had engaged in multiple sex acts against the 14-year-old. Murphy was later found and arrested on multiple counts of statutory rape of a child, statutory sex offense with a child and indecent liberties. He was taken to the Davidson County Jail on a $150,000 secured bond. He has a Jan. 8 court date.                     ...

Dominique Elliott Thornton, 28, is charged with fourth-degree assault for the incident at the Benton County Jail, which took place Nov. 8, according to documents filed in Benton County Circuit Court. Thornton has pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charge. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Thornton punched 40-year-old Alex Randolf White six or seven times.
