Brett Ratner Rape Accuser Asks Court to Drop Producer’s Libel Suit By Gene Maddaus @GeneMaddaus Melanie Kohler, the Hawaii woman who accused Brett Ratner of raping her last fall, has filed a motion asking a judge to dismiss the producer’s libel suit. Kohler’s lawyers contend that Ratner’s suit consisted of little more than “threadbare, conclusory allegations,” which fail to meet the minimum requirements for a libel complaint. They also argue that Ratner’s suit was intended to intimidate other women from coming forward with allegations. In October, Kohler wrote a Facebook post alleging that Ratner raped her in 2004 or 2005. She took the post down within two hours, after receiving a call from Ratner’s attorney. “Stripped of its conclusory allegations, the Complaint is essentially a blank piece of paper,” Kohler’s attorneys wrote. “It lacks any factual allegation from which this Court can infer that Ms. ...

Kernersville man charged with statutory rape of 14-year-old Justin Ross Murphy, 24. LEXINGTON, N.C. — A Kernersville man is accused of raping a 14-year-old, according to a press release. On May 26, 2017, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a teenager. Following a forensic interview at the Dragonfly House Children’s Advocacy Center in Mocksville, investigators found evidence that Justin Ross Murphy had engaged in multiple sex acts against the 14-year-old. Murphy was later found and arrested on multiple counts of statutory rape of a child, statutory sex offense with a child and indecent liberties. He was taken to the Davidson County Jail on a $150,000 secured bond. He has a Jan. 8 court date.                     ...

They report that it happened in the Backwoods area of Hazard.  Police describe the suspect as a white man, 6'2'', thin build, wearing a black ski mask, grey or white hoodie/sweatshirt, blue jeans, and boots. Rape suspect accused of assaulting fellow inmate LILLIAN SCHROCK Corvallis Gazette-Times A man awaiting trial for allegedly raping a teenager in a Philomath alleyway is now facing an assault charge for reportedly punching a fellow inmate. Dominique Elliott Thornton, 28, is charged with fourth-degree assault for the incident at the Benton County Jail, which took place Nov. 8, according to documents filed in Benton County Circuit Court. Wilmington-resident Marc Champagne is set to stand trial for rape and assault after accidentally shooting himself and a woman he was allegedly attacking. The sex began consensually, according to court documents. AUBURN - A woman and three men are being held without bail in connection with the rape, kidnapping and assault of a teenage girl, Worcester district attorney spokesman Paul Jarvey said Saturday. Krystal Lugo, 23, is charged with kidnapping, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and larceny under $250. Christopher Lugo, 19, is charged with kidnapping, rape, and drugging to confine. Yariel Torres-Abee, 22, is charged with kidnapping, and assault and battery.
